What do I need to know?
- Travel and accommodation must be organized and paid for by the participants themselves.
- Referee training is offered by experienced UFC referee Marc Goddard.
Registration process
Registration takes place via our website. After submitting the completed registration form, you will then have the opportunity to pay the participation fee conveniently online. Once we have received the registration fee, we will confirm your training place. If the number of registrations exceeds the maximum permitted number of participants, all further registrations will be placed on the waiting list so that they can move up in the event of cancellations.
Training content
The Unified Rules of MMA – what are they? Bout duration, Stopping the contest, Fouls in MMA – a full breakdown, Protocol when dealing with fouls, Unintentional vs Intentional, Dealing with Dr’s & ringside physicians, Your responsibilities, In fight scenarios and how to deal with them, Referee positioning, Chokes, strangles & suffocation, Dealing with applied submissions, The 10 point must system & its use in MMA, Scoring criteria – what is it? Examples & explanations of the criteria, Common pitfalls, misconceptions & how to avoid them, How to apply the correct use of the criteria, Scores that can be given, Decisions – ways to win & how.
Prerequisites
- Good technical understanding (grappling, striking)
- Passion for and basic understanding of mixed martial arts
- Competition experience or previous experience as an official is not required.
You will receive:
- written training documents
- compact basic training
- many practical exercises
- valuable insights from an experienced instructor
- Water & snacks on the course days
- official certificate if passed
